Unlike a lot of lawyers, I came to legal practice because I enjoyed it. My first 'real' job was as a legal secretary for a sole practitioner - I loved it - within 12 months I had started studying law part time while continuing to work in support roles in legal firms.
I've practiced commercial and property law for over 15 years, working across boutique firms and established practices before founding LexAlia.
My LLB (Honours) is from University of Technology Sydney, and I'm currently completing a Master of Laws in Property & Business Law.
Beyond legal practice, I spent time as Sales & Marketing Manager for a property developer creating new residential estates. This business management experience gives me practical insight into commercial pressures and decision-making from your perspective.
I wanted to create a practice that combines legal expertise with commercial understanding. Too often, legal advice operates in isolation from business realities. At LexAlia, we provide counsel that's legally robust and commercially practical - advice that helps you make confident decisions rather than just identifying potential problems. Working directly with clients allows for this focused, strategic approach.
My experience spans high-value commercial property transactions, complex business acquisitions including primary production businesses and resort sales, mezzanine lending arrangements, and property development projects.
I've worked with established property investors, experienced business owners, and developers across both straightforward and structurally complex matters.
This range gives me perspective on how different transaction types connect to broader commercial strategies.
It gave me an opportunity to view legal services from the client side - experiencing firsthand how legal advice impacts business decisions, timelines, and commercial outcomes. This perspective taught me what business owners actually need: legal advice that integrates with operational requirements rather than advice that exists in isolation from commercial realities.
Having worked in property development operations, I understand timelines, financing pressures, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder coordination from the business side. This means I can anticipate practical issues, communicate in commercial terms, and structure legal advice that aligns with your operational realities. I know what questions to ask and how legal considerations fit within your broader business framework.
You receive consistent strategic thinking throughout your matter. There's no need to re-explain context or repeat commercial objectives to different team members. I maintain sight of your broader goals while handling legal detail, and I can make judgment calls that align with your priorities. This continuity is particularly valuable for complex transactions where legal and commercial considerations intersect.
Absolutely. I'm based in Northern Beaches, Sydney, but I provide property legal services across NSW and business law services Australia-wide.
My practice combines local accessibility with efficient digital processes, allowing me to serve clients effectively regardless of location. Many business law matters can be handled entirely through structured online communication, while property transactions may involve some in-person elements depending on client preference.
